Shirataki Jozen Mizunogotoshi 'Heavenly Water' White Junmai Ginjo Sake 720 ML

Echigo Yuzawa is famous for heavy snowfall and hot springs. When the snow melts, it becomes clear spring water from which the brewery makes beautifully clean sake. In 1855, Tosuke Minatoya founded the brewery on the Mikuni Road, an important road connecting Niigata prefecture and Tokyo. Shirataki sake was a favorite among travelers and the brewery became a popular stop on the mountain pass. The name of “Jozen Mizunogotoshi” is originally derived from Chinese philosopher Lat-tze. The original meaning is “A good way of living is to live smoothly and flexibly like water by changing shape”. Inspired by this, the brewers used this name for a sake based on their philosophy that “good sake will come close to clear water without limit".
