Patland Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Stagecoach 2018 750ml
Tasting Notes
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is determined to stand out and make a name for itself against a slew of intense, classically “Napa Cabernet” predecessors. From start to finish, everything about this wine is notably lifted. The aromas strike a high tone of rainier cherry, purple plum, and cola. Trailing just behind are subtle, warm tones of toffee and caramel. On the palate, the wine is bright and tart with flavors of cherry juice, cranberry rhubarb, and underripe plum. Everything about this wines points to a long, cool ripening season. The flavors are fully developed with hardly a shred of pyrazine character, and yet the acid is beautifully maintained. The combination of acid and well-integrated, fine grain tannin implies this will be one of the longest-lived Cabernets we’ve ever produced. Truly exciting!
Production Notes
91% Cabernet Sauvignon / 8% Malbec / 1% Petit Verdot
Production
430 Cases
92/100 The Wine Independent
A blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, and 1% Petit Verdot, the 2018 Patland Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple in color. It leaps from the glass with notes of crème de cassis, cedar chest, baked blackberries, and menthol, followed by wafts of cedar chest and crushed rocks. The full-bodied palate is tightly wound with black and blue fruit layers, supported by firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and lifted.
