The owners of the ever-popular Mars Shinshu Distillery, Hombo Shuzo, decided to open a second distillery at their homebase in 2016. Production at Mars Tsunuki started in October 2016, and the distillery launched its inaugural release in April 2020. Mars Tsunuki 2022 Edition is the very first limited annual release from the new distillery. The whisky aged in ex-bourbon barrels and is bottled at 50%. Enjoy a whiff of smoke, cooking spices and orange on the nose. The palate is full-bodied with an intense sweetness and fresh fruity taste, nicely balanced by mineral and earthy notes. The finish is long and warming.
