What a stunning "VDP.Ortswein" this is! Grown in the irrigated heat of a dangerously dry summer, Leitz's 2022 Rüdesheim Riesling trocken is pure, intense and herbal on the bright and elegant nose that reveals thyme and very pure stony notes intermingled with perfectly ripe and concentrated white peach and apricot aromas. Lush and refined on the palate, this is a very elegant and balanced Rüdesheimer Riesling classic that seems too good to be true given that vintage. It is saline and finely concentrated toward the mouthwatering finish that remains balanced and elegant. Many GG Rieslings from the 2022 vintage would have difficulty tasting as enjoyable as this village selection. Highly recommended for those who like to save money yet not class.
