"Kendric Vineyards proprietor Stewart Johnson has poured a lifetime into caretaking his 3.4-ha estate vineyard (part of the Cayetana Ranch) in the Petaluma Gap AVA in northern Marin County, which is incredibly cool and windy. Johnson's Syrah wines are fantastic, and when he gets Pinot right, he nails it. This 2022 Pinot Noir shows a translucent, shimmering ruby in the glass. Blood orange is scented with cinnamon, coriander, and sandalwood. Medium-bodied, it offers bright, crunchy red berry fruits, more baking spices, and velvety tannins, which are persistent through a floral-driven finish. JC"
