It is named for rock cairns left by Native Americans who traveled through the hills of Yountville. The 30 precious acres are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. This property is characterized by deep, gravelly loam soil with a western exposure. The vines produce highly concentrated fruit late in the season and are typically the last picks of the harvest. Five blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon separated by age reside on this site, ranging from 5- to 35-year-old plantings.
