G4 Single Barrel Reposado Tequila 750 ML

  • Agave Type: 100% Blue Weber (Estate Grown, Los Altos)
  • Master Distiller: Felipe Camarena
  • Distillery: El Pandillo (NOM 1579)
  • Aging: Aged at least 6 months in a single spent Bourbon barrel
  • Water Source: 50% Rainwater / 50% Spring Water

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: A pale, straw-gold hue. This light color is a testament to the "spent" barrels Felipe prefers—barrels that have already given up their aggressive oak tannins, allowing the agave to remain the protagonist.
  • Aroma: The nose is a vibrant explosion of cooked agave and wet minerals. Because it is a single barrel, you may find more concentrated notes of vanilla bean and toasted almond than in the standard Reposado, underpinned by the signature G4 scent of rain on hot pavement (petrichor).
  • Palate: Silky and buttery on the tongue. The initial sweetness of roasted agave is layered with baking spices—cinnamon and a touch of clove. Subtle oak influence appears as light caramel and a hint of sandalwood, never masking the bright, peppery citrus notes inherent to the Highland agave.
  • Finish: Long, spicy, and incredibly clean. It finishes with a refreshing burst of black pepper and a lingering, sweet vegetal quality that invites another sip.

The Single Barrel Distinction

While the standard G4 Reposado is celebrated for its consistency, the Single Barrel program allows aficionados to experience the subtle variations in wood and temperature. It is a "purist's Reposado," striking a perfect balance between the energy of a Blanco and the sophisticated softness of aged spirit.
