Domaine Marius Delarche Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2018 750ml
The 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is also a stunner, offering vivid orchard fruits, loads of minerality, and hints of toasted bread and spice. While it's brought up in new oak, you wouldn't know that from tasting it. Building nicely on the palate, with medium to full body, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish, it's another gorgeous 2018 that's going to benefit from a year or two of bottle age and evolve for a solid decade in cold cellars. An unexpected delight. This Pernand-based domaine owns several parcels of old vine Corton Charlemagne, all from the west-facing En Charlemagne climat. Lovely fresh and crisp even in 2018, the wine is not overly wooded and marvelously elegant. The wine has breed and lots of finesse, and this estate deserves to be more widely known. (CC)
