In this one, which is one of the smallest in Meursault, the rock is so prevalent that only bushes grow there, hence its name. Our 0.61-hectare Chardonnay plot, planted in the 1990s, is located southwest of the village and faces southeast. The terroir is characterized by a steep slope and shallow soils where bedrock is never far away. The vines benefit from a very steep and stony clay-limestone soil with a light, golden hue. TASTING -
The nose identifies the great Meursault: a bouquet where notes of candied lemons, bay leaves, fine herbs, and iodine blend, contrasted by some woody notes. One senses a lot of distinction.
The palate reveals a Meursault that is taut yet sensual, spreading its rich fruitiness with as much pleasure as nobility, and a lot of balance. Lovely bitter hints enliven the finish, evoking thoughts of cooking rare, rock fish, and festive poultry.
