Coming from older vines and all Clone 337, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The O.G. is heavenly looking stuff, sporting a deep purple hue as well as classic Cabernet notes of crème de cassis, spicy oak, violets, and leafy tobacco. I love its overall purity, and it's full-bodied, has a plush core of fruit, and ripe tannins. This is another heavenly barrel sample from the team at Carter, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it come in near the top of my scale.

Showing a lighter, brighter fruit element, Carter's 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon The OG offers up scents of raspberries and stone fruit, plus hints of mint and dried spices. It's full-bodied, creamy and supple, displaying ample intensity, while the tannins are so well integrated that they're not perceptibly drying at all, lingering elegantly on the finish.
