The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad comes from thinner, rockier soils, and I always find a more Pauillac-like structure and character in this cuvée. Smoky currants, lead pencil, graphite, and crushed stone all define the aromatics, and it's full-bodied on the palate, with beautiful overall balance, a layered, deep, concentrated mid-palate, and substantial tannins. It has the fruit to offer pleasure in its youth, yet this is one where the cellar will be your friend.
