“I have been thinking about family a lot lately. My daughters are out of the house now and forging their own lives, though it is funny how on the financial side
I still get calls from them. Their heritage stems from a mélange of sources including Irish, German, Russian, Greek, Polish, and French. God knows who they
will have children with some day but my future grandchildren will have even more of a blend. ‑at diversity and the unique stories that make up our genetic,
cultural and migratory history is something that I find fascinating and take pride in, with those stories I know, to a great degree.
Cardinale is much like that. Primarily based on a blend of different appellations, it is also a compendium of stories on how those vineyards came to be included
in the wine, the interactions with vineyard and winery staff that came in and out of the picture as the grapes and wine were evolving, how each vineyard fared in
that vintages particular weather, and my process of observation and blending to capture all of those stories is really what Cardinale hopes to share with you. ‑e
2021 vintage has many of those stories and has its own history as well, with its bright fruit driven by a core of blueberry, cassis, dark chocolate covered espresso
beans, Asian spice and graphite it is a great example of the vintage. Enjoy this wine and enjoy your families, and know that the Cardinale family appreciates your
